Earl Roberts Wins Sumter Speedway night at the fair

Sumter Speedway was the kick off for the regular point season and the Florida Slingshots Travel Series. Thirteen Slingshot race teams came out to brave the cold 34 degree temps. The first of two heats was won by #99 Mike Smith, Mike had 11 cars chasing him for the top spot including #17 Rob Sweeten the 2009 Florida Slingshots point champion. Harold Bedell turned in a good 3rd place finish after a back surgery had him side lined for the Nationals. The Second heat was won by #2 Earl Roberts. who has been fast out of the box this year so far. #77x Leroy Meade turned in a 2nd place finish in heat #2. Third place was the strong #24 Harold Bedell.

In the feature event #2 Earl BAD FAST Roberts continued on for the win. Second place was taken by #17 Rob "Robakazi" Sweeten. Third place coming from back in the pack was the hard charging #428 Jason Ford. Forth was the #41 Brian Smith and rounding out the top five was #24 "Hot rod" Harold Bedell
